Government of India announced a ₹1.7 lakh crore package, providing double food ration and cash transfers to the poor people who are most affected during this 21 day lock down.
The ration for 80 crore poor people will be doubled for three months and 1kg pulses is added to the ration. An additional five kg wheat or rice for free and five kg food grain is already provided through the Public Distribution System.
Cash Transfer under Prandhanmantri Garib Kalyan Yojna
Almost 3 crore pensioners like old, widows and divyang people will be given Rs. 1000 in two installments over the next three months. The 20 crore Jan Dhan Yojana accounts will get Rs.500 a month over the next three months as well.
The 8.3 crore poor households, who were availing cooking gas connections under the Ujjwala scheme, will get free gas cylinders over the next three months .
Wages are hiked under the M.G.N.R.E.G.A scheme, from ₹182 to ₹202 a day. And an additional ₹2000 for M.G.N.R.E.G.A workers, who is unable to work due to corona virus outbreak.
An additional ₹50 lakh medical insurance cover for the next three months for all “front line warriors” workers like medical sanitary worker, paramedics, nurses and doctors etc.
For land-owning farmers The first installment of Rs. 2000 which is due under the PM-KISAN scheme will be paid promptly in April, the first month of the financial year.
Helping hands for government
BSF has given thirty three crore eighty one lakh to the PM relief fund. Anil Agarwal, the founder and Chairman of Vedanta Resources Limited, announced #100crore donation to fight corona virus and aid for daily wages labors.

Like wise many people have came forward to support the government. For example many peoples are providing food to the poor people. Many Industries are producing mask, hand sanitizers. Many private institutions have offered their schools and hotels to government for making it quarantine ward.
The way all of us are fighting strongly with the pandemic we hope everything will be back to normal soon without much damage. India is a Union of state and all states are working hard to ensure public health and safety without any discrimination.
