IPL 2020 Postponed, till 15th April

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to suspend IPL 2020 till 15th April , as a precautionary measure against Corona Virus (COVID-19) situation .

Due to the threat of Corona Virus the on going ODI series between India and South Africa has been called off.

WHO has already declared Corona Virus as an epidemic. More than lakhs of people were infected and around Five Thousand peoples died from corona Virus all over the world.

BCCI President Saurav Ganguly said in media interaction, “let’s stick to the postponement, wait and watch. Public safety comes first” .

It means starting date of IPL will be announced after meeting with officials of BCCI and IPL team owner.

The BCCI President said that BCCI is concerned about all its stakeholders and public health. BCCI is taking all necessary steps to ensure no further enhancement of Corona Virus victims due to IPL public gathering.

Government of India already said that BCCI is free to take decision on IPL. BCCI said that it is closely working with Government of India along with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and all other relevant Central and State Government departments.
